It's one of the most popular place in Madrid. Heaven for shopping bugs. But hugely crowded. Lots of eating places. Always vibrant. Good hotels in walking distance. Most tourists attractions nearby.

It was fun there, but me and my friend were haggled. Even though it might seem like it was our fault for not noticing, the guy was a seller and he was bigger than me and my friend and demanded for money for his family in Africa. We gave he a 5 euro to leave us but then he started asking it over and over again. Stay away from the merchants that sell stuff to people. Even though most of them dont do this, you should still be careful.

The Puerta del Sol is a public square in Madrid, one of the best known and busiest places in the city. This is the centre of the radial network of Spanish roads. The square also contains the famous clock whose bells mark the traditional eating of the Twelve Grapes and the beginning of a new year.
The Puerta del Sol ("Gate of the Sun") is the location of the most famous symbol of Madrid: a 20-ton statue of a bear eating fruits from a tree.

The most crowded square of the Madrid city center. A must see for every tourist. Lots of affordable hotels and hostels. Conveniently close to all sorts of shopping one can need.

Puerto del sol is the center of Madrid where all streets originate. Lots of shopping nearby. It's worth seeing in your way to other things. There is a nearby metro station. Look for tapas and coffee...great smoothies! Fresh fruit and healthy! Not sugary at all. Several options for a vitamin and cool, natural energy boost!
